The journey towards achieving financial freedom can often be a lonely one. It is common to feel lost and uncertain along the way and to want to share your thoughts and anxieties with someone. However, many of us can only rely on online forums for support, and unfortunately, some forum users can be overly aggressive or just keyboard warriors.

My name is Aaron, and I was born in Malaysia. I currently work in Singapore as a data analyst. Like many people, I have a dream of achieving financial freedom before retirement age. I have created this blog to document my investment journey.

Previously, my portfolio was fairly diversified across three different markets: US, MY, and SG. However, as of July 2023, I decided to sell everything I had in the Malaysian market and focus solely on the US market. The reason for this decision was to keep all my funds in one market to make it easier to manage. The US market is more mature compared to MY and SG, and there are many different tools, such as options, that allow for more flexibility in managing risk. Many well-known companies, such as Apple, Google, and Amazon, are listed in the US market as well. Currently, most of my positions are in ETFs, including TLT, VOO, QYLD, and SCHD. The rest of the individual stocks I hold are AAPL, ALK, DIS, GOOGL, MSFT, NEE, O, TRV, TSLA, TSM, and UNH. The overall value of my portfolio is around $21,640, including cash. All trades are done within the Webull broker.

As for the SG market, it is famous for REITs and finance sector investments, which is exactly what I currently hold. I currently own two REITs in my Tiger broker: Keppel DC REIT (AJBU) and Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust (T82U). My SG investment is mainly for dividend collection only, as I want to focus more on the US market. You might be wondering why I do not hold any banking stocks; the answer is that I want to purchase DBS (D05) at a price below S$30, and I am still waiting for that opportunity. The total value of my SG investment is about $4,514 (converted to USD for easier calculation).

So, the total value of my investment portfolio is $26,154. My current strategy is to set aside S$2,000 every month and top up my Webull account. I believe that investing regularly and consistently is the key to achieving my financial goals.

Both Tiger and Webull brokers are currently running promotions. If you haven't already, go ahead and sign up. The Tiger promotion requires an initial deposit of ≥ S$1,000 and the completion of 5 new BUY trades to get USD 40 worth of Apple fractional shares and a one-time sure-win draw. The Webull promotion requires an initial funding of ≥ S$300 to get a chance to win USD 580 worth of Tesla fractional shares.

In my next blog post, I will delve deeper into why I selected the stocks mentioned above. Stay tuned and let's grow our investment knowledge together!
